Tlaquepaque Restaurant in Placentia

Heard about this place from a friend. Went all the way down to our 30 minute drive...........Last Sunday we called before we got there. And asked if they had Green Chile and cheese tamales. And they said yes. When we arrived she said they were all out. What? I told her we drove all this way. She couldn’t even seat us to have any other food items. She didn’t compensate anything. Didn’t seem to care. If I was a business owner. I’d at least say come back for 2 free drinks on the house. But, no sorry or anything. Just basically out of luck.

Went to celebrate my birthday and the service was great down to the music..

This place is worth visiting. They have large portions for affordable rates. Constantly well organized and with good vibes. Will come back again.

I celebrated my graduation today in this delicious restaurant. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a phenomenal evening and the place was unquestionably the reason for the strong event. The team participated in a lovely way, the cooking was extremely good and my buddies were very pleased. We shall no dout visit again for more events. thanks very much.

Fantastic Mexican food. This is the real deal. Their marinated skirt steak is quite possibly the best I've ever had. Beans are a little wet for my liking but that's just personal preference. The flavor is outstanding.

This place is fantastic and I would even say, better than Faralito down a couple blocks.Sunday brunch is fantastic and the live music is also great. NOT bottomless champagne, 3 glasses are included. Still very worth it.

The most fantastic tamales I have ever eaten! No question. The building was beautiful, and felt very authentic. The views are great, and the staff was so friendly and sweet! Zero regrets eating here. I would love to go again!

Tlaquepaque is celebrating 55 years in business and continues to provide excellent authentic Mexican food and customer service. They reopened for dine in service on June 5, 2020 after being closed because of Covid-19. The owners and employees have shown great resilience and continue to provide our community with quality food and a fun atmosphere. Thank you Tlaquepaque for all of your hard work. Sunday Brunch was delicious as always accompanied with beautiful mariachi music.

This family run restaurant is fantastic! I had the el pastor taco plate with rice and beans and it was phenomenal! I love the atmosphere and now they just opened outdoor dining today with specials on drinks and an all you can eat style dinner. Go as soon as you can and experience what local Placentia residents have enjoyed for over 80 years!

Love the Carnitas Sopes, the salsa gets a thumbs up, not too hot but lots of flavor. Very authentic Mexican food with great service and decor. I try to eat here whenever I'm in Placentia.

Great authentic mexican food. Family owned since 1965. My favorite thing here is the albondigas soup. Hearty and filling in itself. $11 for a huge bowl w/tortillas. You won't regret this

Went today, had lunch with SANTA! I was one of the group of Santas that had a get together today.

Great food . friendly helpful staff and awesome mariachi during brunch . definitely a Great spot for any occasion. Cheese enchiladas are my favorite here but all the food is delicious

I've tried several dishes at this restaurant and I have enjoyed their taco salads, street tacos, nachos and enchiladas, no matter which type of meat I've had them with. Their salsa that they serve with their chips is very flavorful. I've also enjoyed their different flavored margaritas. I really enjoy coming to this restaurant!

Great food at a good value. We were a party of 11 with 2 kids and our waiter and the rest of the staff were very attentive. It has a very family friendly atmosphere. We all enjoyed our meal. The special of green enchiladas with crab were absolutely delicious. Will go back when I'm in the area.

This restaurant has wonderful service, a diverse menu of authentic Mexican food, and a great environment. A small place in Santa Ana, it captures a family feel not often found within the other restaurants of the city. Good food, good time.

The chicken mole enchiladas were the bomb. The mole had perfect blend of spices, not too thick. The crema was just the right amount and balanced the slight sweetness of the mole. Impressed!

The food was very good. The chicken with mole sauce was flavorful. The tacos were authentic and tasty. The first batch of chips we got were a little stale, but the second basket was warm and crunchy. The salsa was tangy and a bit spicy.

Always great service, amazing authentic Mexican food, and who doesn't love a quality margarita? I try to eat half and take half home, but it's too good to stop 😆

Good food but $$$. During brunch live loud band and you can't talk to anyone at your table. kept asking for ice tea refills

Great Place, good little Mexican spot for food

El Faro-who?I have eaten at the place up the street and not been impressed, usually dragged by others that want to eat there. Often an hour or more wait. Just down the street is this hidden jewel. The food was amazing, I had the Tampiqueño which, even though it was a little overdone was delicious. The chips and salsa were great.
